Gurdwara
Kartarpur sahib, the place where Guru Nanak spent 18 years of his life, settled
and assembled the Sikh commune after his missionary travel, also called
Kartarpur. It is situated in Shakargarh Norowal District, Pakistan. Sikhism’s
first Guru, Guru Nanak spread God’s teaching saying that which is also known as
Guru Nanak’s three teachings “Kirt Karo, Naam Jappo, Wand Ke Chhako.” When Guru
Nanak left the world in Kartarpur Sahib Sikh and Muslims start fighting with
each other. Muslims asked to make the tomb and the Sikhs funeral the
flowers.
Yet
there is a tomb outside the Gurdwara and inside the Gurdwara place where Sikhs
funerals the flower of Guru Nanak. Pakistan’s Muslims come to the Gurdwara on
the occasion of Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary every year to do sava (selfless
service) there. The Pakistani army does seva yet.

The
shrine can be seen from the border of the Indian side and the Gurdwara
Kartarpur Sahib is Sikhism’s one of the historic place in Pakistan’s Punjab and
this is more than Makka for Sikhs. The Gurdwara is 4 km’s in distance from the
Indian border side. Sikh pilgrims are demanding to make a corridor for last 70
years between the two countries India and Pakistan which can allow Sikh
pilgrims to visit the Gurdwara with no visa for the visiting of the Gurdwara
Kartarpur Sahib Pakistan. For the Sikh pilgrims from Indian as well as for the
Pakistani Sikhs, this is a historical movement by the Pakistani
government.

Sikhs
were demanding to open the ways to the Kartarpur Sahib for the last 70 years so
that they can visit the place of Guru Nanak. After collaborating of both
governments to make the corridor there from Indian side Gurdaspur to the Pakistani
side Kartarpur which is four km in the distance.
What
Pakistan Says
In
August 2018, Punjab tourism minister Navjot Singh Sidhu attended the Pakistani
prime minister Imran Khan’s inaugural ceremony, and he was told by the army
chief Qamar Javed Bajwa of Pakistan’s willingness to open the Dera Baba Nanak
Kartarpur Corridor on Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary.
After
the long demand both the governments have agreed to make the corridor now which
is being built from both sides. Pakistan’s prime minister Imran Khan has said
that they will charge $20 from each pilgrim for the onetime visit.

PM
Imran Khan Said that this is like Muslims seeking to visit Makka, which is four
km from them. PM Imran Khan said in the speech that they will develop the
Kartarpur Sahib and give more facilities to Sangat there. On the occasion
of Guru Nanak’s 550 birth anniversary which will be celebrated on 12 of
November. And PM also said that by the grace of the God you will see everything
there in the Kartarpur Sahib.
We hope
that this will make a good relationship for both the countries and bring more
opportunities to living there.
