Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur Punjab Pakistan and the Corridor

Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur

Kartarpur Sahib Punjab Pakistan

Gurdwara Kartarpur sahib, the place where Guru Nanak spent 18 years of his life, settled and assembled the Sikh commune after his missionary travel, also called Kartarpur. It is situated in Shakargarh Norowal District, Pakistan. Sikhism’s first Guru, Guru Nanak spread God’s teaching saying that which is also known as Guru Nanak’s three teachings “Kirt Karo, Naam Jappo, Wand Ke Chhako.” When Guru Nanak left the world in Kartarpur Sahib Sikh and Muslims start fighting with each other. Muslims asked to make the tomb and the Sikhs funeral the flowers.

Yet there is a tomb outside the Gurdwara and inside the Gurdwara place where Sikhs funerals the flower of Guru Nanak. Pakistan’s Muslims come to the Gurdwara on the occasion of Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary every year to do sava (selfless service) there. The Pakistani army does seva yet.

Darbar Sahib
The shrine can be seen from the border of the Indian side and the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib is Sikhism’s one of the historic place in Pakistan’s Punjab and this is more than Makka for Sikhs. The Gurdwara is 4 km’s in distance from the Indian border side. Sikh pilgrims are demanding to make a corridor for last 70 years between the two countries India and Pakistan which can allow Sikh pilgrims to visit the Gurdwara with no visa for the visiting of the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib Pakistan. For the Sikh pilgrims from Indian as well as for the Pakistani Sikhs, this is a historical movement by the Pakistani government.
Kartarpur Sahib Corridor

Sikhs were demanding to open the ways to the Kartarpur Sahib for the last 70 years so that they can visit the place of Guru Nanak. After collaborating of both governments to make the corridor there from Indian side Gurdaspur to the Pakistani side Kartarpur which is four km in the distance.

What Pakistan Says
In August 2018, Punjab tourism minister Navjot Singh Sidhu attended the Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan’s inaugural ceremony, and he was told by the army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa of Pakistan’s willingness to open the Dera Baba Nanak Kartarpur Corridor on Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary.
After the long demand both the governments have agreed to make the corridor now which is being built from both sides. Pakistan’s prime minister Imran Khan has said that they will charge $20 from each pilgrim for the onetime visit.

What Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan Said
Kartarpur Sahib outside view of Khanda.
PM Imran Khan Said that this is like Muslims seeking to visit Makka, which is four km from them. PM Imran Khan said in the speech that they will develop the Kartarpur Sahib and give more facilities to Sangat there. On the occasion of Guru Nanak’s 550 birth anniversary which will be celebrated on 12 of November. And PM also said that by the grace of the God you will see everything there in the Kartarpur Sahib.
We hope that this will make a good relationship for both the countries and bring more opportunities to living there.
