Guru Granth Sahib Ji |
Guru Granth Sahib is first-ever and
the only living Guru of world’s 5th largest religion Sikhism in the world.
Sikhism tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji terminated the human Guru line and
brought the eternal Guru known as Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Guru Granth Sahib is
the living Guru on the earth admitted by the Indian constitution. There are
thousands of things, which makes this the greatest in the world the teaching of
Guru Granth Sahib will change your life and connect your soul to the greatest
God who lives within you.
1. Guru Granth Sahib
- mean of “Granth” is the abstract of text,
which gives you the knowledge of the spiritual, social, political,
language, etc. The meaning of “Guru” is the one who brings from darkness to light.
- Starting of Guru Granth Sahib is from
“Mulmantra,” (The defination of God) the first Bani is Jap Ji Sahib and
the other Banies are Sodar Raharas, Sohila, Wanjara, Karhale, Sukhmani,
Birhade, Alaniyan, Kuchaji, Suchaji, Gunvanti, Ghodiyan, Pahare, Anand,
Auakar, Sidhghost and more.
- The language and script of Guru Granth Sahib
is in Gurmukhi, if we talk about spoken there are so many languages in
Guru Granth Sahib such as Farsi, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Gujrati, Rajasthani,
Hindi, Urdu and the other but the scrip is in Gurmukhi. There is no
biography or story of any Guru in Guru Granth sahib, the thing there is
only Gurbani, which connects to your soul to the Greatest God/Waheguru,
Ram, Allah or whatever you name him.

The Treasure of qualities
- Guru Granth Sahib is the treasure of qualities knowledge, where this makes you brave, saint and soldier and connects your soul direct to the eternal God. Guru Granth Sahib has 1430 angs (pages).
There are 19 lines in every ang (page), and the number of words in Guru
Granth Sahib is 398697, with 29445 words covered in the dictionary. Consist of
26852 number of lines.

3. Poetic Diction
- Are numbers of poetic diction such as Shabd,
Shlok, Ashtpadi, Solhe, Var and others.
4. Melody
- Bani (teaching) in Guru Granth Sahib is based on Rags (melody). So the learner has plenty of bliss of Guru’s teaching and there are 31 Rags (melody) in Guru Granth Sahib.
5. Teaching in the Guru Granth Sahib
- the Guru Granth Sahib there is the teaching
(Bani) of 6 Gurus, 15 Bhakts (devotees), 11 Bhats and the three Guru
Sikhs. In the past Guru Granth Sahib also known as Pothi Sahib, farther it
also known as Aadi Granth the name which was given by Guru Arjan Sahib.
6. Organizing of Gurbani
- Gurbani was organized by Guru Nanak with his
own and other devotees Bani. Then Guru Nanak Ji gave his and devotees Bani
to second Guru, Guru Angad Ji going further Guru Angad Ji handed over the
same Bani to Guru Amardas to Guru Ramdas and then the Gurbani reached to
Guru Arjan Ji.
7. Guru Arjan Ji
- Guru Arjan Ji started work on the Gurbani to
organize it in a modernized written manner so now one can mix anything
else in it. The whole Guru Granth Sahib's work was done in Gurdwara Ramsar
sahib.
8. The Aadi Granth
- Guru Arjan Sahib was the operator of Aadi
Granth and the work for writing were done by Bhai Gurdas Ji in the presence of Guru Arjan Ji and it took one and a half years to write it down. The
first Hukam Nama (order/teaching) of Guru Granth Sahib was taken by Baba
Budda Ji, in Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) Amritsar in 1604. Earlier there was only five Guru’s Bani.
9. Guru Teg Bahadur Ji
- Gurbani of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’s was added by
Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The status from Aadi Granth to Guru Granth Sahib was
given by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, said from today my and your Guru will be
Guru Granth Sahib Ji and everyone will work according to Guru Granth Sahib
Ji.

The Gurbani or Guru Granth Sahib is
not only the Guru of Sikhs but for all universe and every single person on the
earth. There are so many things which make Guru Granth Sahib Grate.
